Improve Adoption
Involved users from across 10 NASA Centers in the design and development of a unified platform.
NASA’s Scientific and Technical Information (STI) team initially engaged Intevity to demonstrate the capabilities of the AEM Forms platform. Following the rapid prototyping and platform demo, NASA’s STI group engaged Intevity to define, design, and develop a change management process/workflow to safeguard the distribution and publication of the agency’s sensitive scientific information. The secondary objective was to optimize the overall processing time and reduce the workload on hundreds of NASA STI submitters at NASA’s ten centers across the United States.
Intevity realized the challenge was not just in converting a form from one platform to another. Given the complexity, scale, and the number of stakeholders involved, Intevity worked with the STI team in order to identify requirements and dependencies across each of NASA’s Centers—conducting workshops, needs assessments, and demos with the various user groups. Together with NASA stakeholders, our teams identified opportunities to define business rules, introduce automation, and build consistency throughout the application.
Together, through the use of Adobe AEM Forms and Intevity’s workflow improvements, we re-engineered NASA’s NF1676 platform. The Intevity/NASA team reimagined NF1676’s current status, processes, and workflow while working within the broader governance framework. As a result, NASA senior management can now implement improvements that: simplify the end-to-end management process; provide improved auditing and reporting capabilities; enable prioritized planning for downstream improvements; and establish a feedback mechanism for outreach to all NASA facilities.
